At about 10:50pm on Saturday August 2nd 2013, my wife and I saw an unknown object project what appeared be a beam multiple times as it traversed the sky. It traveled straight in a west/nw direction. It would be about the same illumination as a high plane at night then suddenly light up brilliantly as if projecting a beam or "bursting" into flame. I watched the object travel for about 45secs to a min. Almost reminded me of meteor footage I've seen but moved way to slowly for a meteor.
