While on our Lake Michigan west patio "hot air balloon" like objects travelled from north to south approximately 1-2 miles over Lake Michigan at an angle of about 30 degrees. There was no sound, no running/blinking lights. Wind speed was 2mph, temp was 63 F with 75% humidity on a clear and cloudless night. Three objects passed by our home, with intervals of about 1 minute, angled west toward Chicago, and then climbed rapidly to a point where they disappeared from sight. 10 minutes elapsed, and the same event happened once again. I checked with our neighbor, a commercial pilot, and he reported he has seen the same thing, but with 4 objects flying in formation. I also checked with another neighbor, and he also observed an object. This same event occurred at our home on the evening of July 4th 2013, but with 2 groups of 2 travelling from the south to the north with the same flight patterns.
